Future event info

The club champs for 2011 have been decided (and congratulations to all) so now it is time to look towards the autumn, winter and spring programme for the club.
Read on for all the details.
Lynne has also converted all the EckO events and other important events into a single PDF that you can print and stick on the fridge door:

Autumn and winter events
These now have planners and organisers. Please note the swop of location - 5th November is now Sutherland’s Grove with 12th November being Fearnoch. They are all registered with British Orienteering so we are covered on the insurance side. Would all organisers please ensure that permissions are in place (for non-Forestry Commission areas, this is often best arranged through Ross Lilley). There could be more events than those published; I heard James Tullie muttering about putting on night events - watch the website for details. Night orienteering is great fun!
Training
There are a few training events in the calendar - more details of these will be put on the club website nearer the time. We also have a confirmed booking for the club training weekend, Friday (evening) 23rd to Sunday (afternoon) 25th March 2012 at Lagganlia, near to Kincraig. Provisional costs for accommodation and training maps will be £40 per adult and £30 per junior (at school). If we can source any grant funding this will decrease. Please send bookings for this weekend to Lynne Walker, stating names of all interested. Deposit of £15 per person will be required by Saturday 7th January 2012 at the Deflab run.
2012
EckO are involved in a couple larger events in 2012. First off is our own SOL (Scottish Orienteering League) event on Sunday 18th March 2012. The location is being finalised. Ross Lilley is planning, Lucy Shearer is the organiser with Paul Frost sorting out the computer side of things. This is the first SOL of 2012 and so could attract a good entry.
The JK (the four day event over Easter weekend)
Is in Scotland in 2012, it starts off with a sprint race in Livingston on Good Friday (6th April 2012); there are then two Individual races - Satuday 7th April at Dunalister (near Tummel Bridge) and Craig a Barns at Dunkeld on Sunday 8th April. The final day - Easter Monday 9th April 2012 - is relay day at Newtyle near Dunkeld; EckO are one of the organising clubs for this day, so as well as entering relay teams we will be doing ‘things’, JK2012 website link
EckO Spring Series 2012
This will run from the week beginning April 16th through to week beginning May 21st 2012. Before we finalise dates and locations, the committee need to know the following:
1. Which days of the week DO NOT suit you?
2. For some weeks (weeks beginning April 16th, April 23rd, May 7th, May 14th and May 21st) would a Saturday or Sunday be better than a weekday evening?
I have set up a Doodle poll page for you to register which days you would prefer.
3. Would you like to plan/organise (or help to plan/organise) and event and if so, suggestions for the date & area which would suit you for this?
