Scottish Schools 2010

17 juniors representing 4 schools (Rockfield, Kilchrenan, Taynuilt and Oban High) headed to Palacerigg Country Park in Cumberbauld on the 4th June. A great time was had by all on both the courses and in the fantastic play park which I think at one point had all 380 youngsters from the 30 schools who were being represented in it at one time!
At the end of the day we came home with lots of medals and trophies and some great personal achievements.
Overall Taynuilt came 4th, Kilchrenan 13th and Rockfield 15th in the Primary school section and Oban High came 8th out of 17 High schools.
Callum won the P5/6 Boys with Tom coming in 12th and Harry 30th and their combined score won them a 3rd place as a P5/6 boys team.
Emma achieved a 2nd and Roanne a 3rd with Lisa and Cara gaining 13th and 36th and due to confusion over the finish Holly missed punched – this time! Emma, Roanne and Lisa’s combined score earned them a 2nd as a P5/6 girls team.
Anja ran the P7 girls course coming in in 5th place.
Jamie and Alasdair paired up and ran together for Rockfield and came in a fantastic 4th place on the P7 boys course while Ross, Tomus and Scott from Kilchrenan came in 13th, 14th and 20th respectively on the same course and together earned a 3rd place as a team.
Oban High School also saw great results with Sam gaining 4th on the S1 boys course, Briony 1st in the S2 girls and Murray 5th on the S3 boys course.
