Taynuilt at the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival

Taynuilt at the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival

Friday 4th June saw 10 pupils from Taynuilt Primary boarding a minibus provided by Stramash at 7am and heading to Beecraigs Country park at Linlithgow for the Scottish Schools Orienteering Championships.

Everyone was a little nervous at attending such a big event but managed to overcome their nerves and put in some good individual performances. The P5/6 girls team of Roanne Lilley, Anja Powell and Emma Baird achieved 3rd place in the team event and 9th, 10th and 16th place as individuals while the P7 boys, Sam Lines, James Kane and Connor MacNeil achieved 4th place in their team event. Tom Lines and Callum Hunter managed 16th and 17th place in the P5/6 boys while Megan Judson achieved 8th place and Hannah Docherty 24th in the P7 girls class. Out of 23 primary schools entering the event, overall Taynuilt Primary managed a fantastic joint 4th place.
