Friday 15th Feb saw the 5 selected juniors travel to Moray for some training in terrain that is similar to what they will face in Portugal.
A couple of quick warm-up sessions at Nethy Bridge to shake off the travel legs, then off to Findhorn and sand dunes!

Purple Thistle 2012,

The power of the voice of the EckO contingent is evident in the results. It does not matter how old or young you are, how fit or blooby you are, the cheering as soon as you are spotted heading towards the finish is deafening.

Croeso 2012

Croeso 2012,

What to do with them? Well for many of us, orienteering is going to feature during the summer. Every two years there is the pilgrimage to the Scottish 6 Days; there is a vast variety of events abroad to think about from the vast O-Ringen in Sweden (Andy & Marieke survived the floods on the campsite the last time they went) to warm weather orienteering in the south of France to exploring a very different culture in countries further east in Europe – I have a strong desire to go to Slovakia & Croatia to orienteer amongst the ‘doline’ in the karst terrain.
