Send me any photos you have and I’ll add them here.
Thanks to Ross Lilley for organising at late notice, Lucy Shearer for coordinating the eating implements and all the participants for the food.
Calculating a handicap for this years champs proved difficult, but the final method was:
Take the time in seconds, divide by the points, multiply by the official ratios used for course length planning and end up with an adjusted time for seconds per point.
So for Susannah: 1567(seconds) / 300(points) = 5.22(seconds per point) x 0.69(ratio) = 3.60(seconds per point)
This is probably not the most accurate as the ratios are designed with cross country terrain in mind, but I’m not aware of any official ratios for sprint/urban terrain.
Special mention must go to Jess, one of our newest members, she scored maximum points and was faster than everyone, including Andy, who produced the map and planned the control locations (as used for the 6 Days Sprint race).
As always, this is a fun event and aimed at everyone having a good time, which I think they did. The food spread always seems to have more sweet things than savoury, which I personally think is a good thing!
