Creag Mhic, 15th May 07
Thanks everyone for coming along and facing the Creag Mhic challenge particularly those from further afield! I think everyone found the area a lot more technical than they’ve been used to. Well done to those who completed the courses and for those who didn’t I hope you’re not too disappointed, the map/area is in quite a different league to some of the other maps we’ve been using in this series. Creag Mhic has been used for the British Championships in the past and will be the star attraction when the Scottish 6 Days comes to the area in 2011! It has a reputation as one of the best orienteering areas in the UK.
I look forward to seeing everyone’s routes on route gadget even the mistakes! It’s a good way of reviewing how you would run next time and certainly help me review my planning technique.
Thanks to Alex and all at Achnacloich for allowing us to use the area especially in the middle of lambing time. Any later and bracken, ticks and midges would have been a real challenge. Thanks also to Lynne and Paul for map preparation and coming up to support us. Also to Andy and Niall for help bringing in controls.
You can record the route you took to each control and view the routes other people took on the RouteGadget page.
