At last a dry, albeit chilly, day for the latest in EckO's Autumn/Winter series of events. Susannah MacMillan(Organiser), Louis Macmillan (Planner), and Ross Lilley(Controller) offered us five courses on the superb map produced this year by Stirling Surveys.
They were were rewarded by an excellent turnout of members and non-members, augmented by the Scottish Junior Orienteering Squad (ScotJOS) who were in Argyll for a training weekend. As was the case in May for EckO's Scottish Orienteering League event here, there were were lots of positive comments about the course planning and the map.
The Argyll and Bute Sports Achievement of the Year was presented to Louis MacMillan by Councillor Roddy MacCuish at the event. Councillor Roddy expressed his admiration for Louis's achievements this year and appeared impressed by the organisation involved in Sunday's event.
Orienteering events need lots of helpers and Sunday's event was no exception. So my thanks to: all the control setters - Jan, Susannah, and Louis; control collectors - Ross, Louis, Susannah, Jura, and Dave; Carol on registration; and John on car parking.
