The weather wasn’t as bad as forecast, it only started raining lightly when we had finished. Andy has done a good job with the map (as you can see on the right), it was a shame that only 6 of us got to use it.

Street ‘O’ is getting very popular, with cities including Edinburgh, Oxford and Venice holding regular events. It brings new challenges to orienteering, you need to read the map very carefully as dead ends are common. It tends to be fast, as the surface is usually firm compared to the wet heavy ground often found in the Argyll forests. The only issue is that there are cars about, so you need to take care when crossing roads whilst reading your map.
I think we should repeat this event sometime in the spring, so more people get the chance to try Street ‘O’ .
