The fourth event of this year's mid-week Spring Series was an urban score event in Oban.
Turnout was down on recent weeks, possibly due to terrible weather during the afternoon and the fact that juniors were not allowed to compete unaccompanied by an adult.
Well done John, who visited all 34 controls in well under the sixty minute time limit.
|John McLuckie||ECKO||340 points||49:41|
|Bill Kersel||180 - 47 = 133||64:38|
A big thanks to Ross for organising and planning, and to Atlantis Leisure for use of indoor facilities.

Starting and Finishing at the entrance to Atlantis Leisure the aim is to navigate to as many of the control sites printed on the map as possible within 1 hour. There will be penalty points for every minute you are late back after 1 hour.
If more than one participant correctly finds all controls within the hour then results will be ordered according to the time taken to complete the course.
There will not be a control flag at each control site. Instead, the control description will be a question that you will be able to find the answer to on the feature you will encounter within the control circle e.g. 'What is the code on the lampost?'.
You will be issued with a pencil to write down the answer to the question in the control description (printed on the back of your map). Answers will be checked against an answer sheet at the finish in order to confirm you visited the control site.
We are using Andy Dale's urban orienteering map of Oban centre. This is bordered by Corran Halls/surrounds in the north and Tesco's carpark and the Train station in the south. As the event will involve using Oban's busy road network the event is only suitable for responsible adults or juniors who are closely supervised by a responsible adult. SI timing will be used for the start and finish.
As usual please help us out with registration and map printing by pre-ordering your map(s) from email@example.com. Last week at Tralee we ran out of maps.
There will also be a Maze-O on the green in front of Atlantis for additional entertainment or for those who don't want to do the Urban Score event.
6.00 pm until 7.00 pm
Course closes at 8.00 pm. Please report to the finish regardless of how many control sites you visit.
£4 Adults, £2 Juniors for ECKO or other orienteering club members.
£5 Adults, £2 Juniors for non-members.
Info for dog owners
Dogs allowed but must be under control.
There are toilets available at Atlantis Leisure
