Type of course: Temporary
Terrain type: Woodland & Moorland

Last updated: Tue 2 Nov, 2021

Overview

This course will be available until Saturday 13th November.

Dunollie is a mixture of woodland which is runnable in places and open hill with plenty of bracken and gorse.

Safety:

Please be aware that cows/calves might well be in the area. If you come across any beast, slow down, keep your distance and change your route if necessary.

There are some tough areas of bracken along the routes- currently, the ground is very wet, muddy and uneven.

Aid to navigation:-

The power lines on the north side of Battleship hill have been left on the map.

Information about the courses: (Note from planner)

Short course
Start to #7 is relatively easy. After that it is a bit more challenging navigationally and on the ground.

A young/inexperienced family may want to retrace their steps at #7. The more adventurous may want to push on. Power lines are useful for #8-#9-#10-#11. #8-#9 is a nice contour through the woods with a very obvious pylon to aim for.

Long Course

The going can be hard work in most areas of the course. Take note of the green vertical lines showing thick bracken. There are a few TD3 controls in there so not all controls are a big navigational challenge.
