Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Report

Another excellent turnout on a fine day at Ganavan. A big, big thank you to Ross Lilley who planned all the courses; put out the control flags (starting at 7.00 am by torchlight !); provided coaching along with Jan Kersel; and collected half the controls. Just another day at his orienteering office.

Also thanks to Diane Mailer and Jan for control collecting; to Andy Dale for rescuing your scribe from a failure to keep on top of his printer toner supply; and to Douglas Henderson (Roxburgh Reivers) for helping out at registration.

Alan.
