Lagganlia has changed the way I orienteer by Ruari C
For 1 week this summer holiday I have been at an orienteering camp that has been the most impactful thing I have done in this sport. The camp that I went too was called Lagganlia, near Aviemore, and it has changed how I orienteer.
EckO and the Itera Adventure Race - volunteers needed
Adventure Oban are partnering with Loch Eck Orienteers and Oban Canoe Club to bring the ITERA Expedition Race to Oban. This is a mind-boggling challenge that sees over 50 teams of 4 from all over the world take part in 500km of non-stop racing on foot, bike and kayak across the West Highlands. In particular, Oban Adventure is helping out ECKO as we look after an orienteering stage near Inverawe from Thursday 18th August at 2am until Friday 19th August at 3am.
We need all the volunteers we can get to help staff the start and finish section of the stage. You don’t need any orienteering experience and we’re grateful for any time you can offer, even if it’s just an hour.
If you can help, send an email to hello@adventureoban.org and Adventure Oban will take it from there.

EckO heads to the Irish Orienteering Championships 2022
Congratulations to EckO members, John and Suse Coon on their latest escapade across the pond in the South West Of Ireland.
“Good effort,” I said.
“Good effort my foot!” came the quick reply “but it's very kind of you to say so. I set off on the sprint without my glasses so couldn't even read the map never mind find the controls!”
You see orienteering is not all about competition but having fun, problem solving and enjoying the moment.
Read on for a very entertaining account of some of their adventures.
