Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Map / Terrain

A varied marshy wooded area surrounding and including Fort William golf course, taking in mixed deciduous and conifer woodland on steep hillside above. Mostly all runnable with enough tracks in both parts to allow for TD1-3 courses but not detract from TD 4-5 navigational challenge. Something for everyone.

Assembly and carpark at Fort William Golf Club.

Starts from 1100hrs.

Courses close 1330hrs

Course Information

Yellow - 1.8Km uses fairways and tracks and vegetation boundaries as handrails

Orange - 3.0Km similar to yellow but ventures onto forest tracks in woodland above the golf course

Green - 4.1Km navigational challenge throughout. Mix of terrain. Route choice critical to avoid the marshes.

Blue - 5.3Km - uses all pairts of the area. Mixed running and nav. Keep your wits about you.

Well behaved dogs allowed.

Facilities

We will have use of the Golf Club house meeting area and toilets. Note: The bar will not be open, so bring your own food and drink.
