Five EckO members travelled to Yorkshire for the British Orienteering Long Distance Championships on May 5th. The event took place near the village of Arncliffe in the Dales and was run over hilly, open moorland in fine weather. All courses featured wooden styles over typical drystone walls.

Three members of the MacMillan family finished in the top ten of their respective classes:

Jura was a superb third in the Women's W20 Elite race; Louis just missed out on a top three position, finishing fourth in the very competitive Men's M18 Elite class; and mum Susannah was sixth in the equally competitive W50 Long class.

Photo-shy Carol Burnapp finished 46th in the same race as Susannah and Alan Partridge was 32nd in the M70 class, having embarrassed himself by missing his start time by six minutes.
