Oban High School
EckO enjoyed a very sunny coaching day at the rugby club in Oban with the Oban High School Duke of Edinburgh group.
The group spent the morning being introduced to the intricacies of orienteering using practice activities followed by a short orienteering course in Glencruitten woodlands. They rotated round five activities - a maze, netball numbers, cones, star course and musical orienteering with the emphasis on accurate map setting. Lots of fun to be had with a serious side.
Hopefully, the group will feel more confident using a map and locating themselves when they go out on expedition later on this year.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped out on the day.
