Explanation of Event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Report
The third event of EckO’s Autumn series took place on Sunday at Inverawe. Planner Finlo provided excellent courses, making use of the varied terrain (for the first time in this reporter’s experience no-one missed a control, no-one punched the wrong control, and no-one retired; thank you, Finlo).
Turnout was a bit disappointing – (proximity to Christmas, mid-week weather report?) – but the weather was dry, albeit underfoot conditions slightly damper, and everyone enjoyed Finlo’s courses.
Big thanks to Finlo for planning, control placement, and control collection; to Ross for control placement and control collection; to Linda, Bryan, and Finlay for control collection; and to Patrick for welcoming us to Inverawe.
Alan.
