Explanation of Event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Report
A very belated (multiple computer failure) thank you to all those who turned out for our pre-Christmas event. Recent windblow and felling have made planning the longer, technical courses more difficult at Barcaldine. I had great plans for paths versus felled areas legs, but would have been ejected from EckO membership for one or two of my proposed legs, So it wasn't about finding the control, more about choosing your route to the next control - hence #5 on Green; sorry. I made the decision not to include the river ford, as Andy did last year, and there was therefore no Blue course. (A good few of you would have taken on the ford on Sunday, but I wouldn't have on Friday, and Health & Safety . . .).
Also a big thank you to Bill Kersel and Jan for the reindeer string course. Much enjoyed by smaller people
