Ecko Juniors run for Scotland at Junior Home Internationals

Ecko's Iris Macmillan, Ruari Cottier and Finlay Cottier were all selected to run for Scotland at last weekend's Junior Home Internationals held at Sutton Park near Birmingham

Always a tough gig competing away from home on unfamiliar territory and at the pinnacle of UK orienteering competition, but Iris, Ruari and Finlay all contributed to maintaining Scotland's prowess against the UK nations. This time, however, Scotland were pipped at the post by the host nation England in the overall weekend results but comfortably coming second ahead of Northern Ireland and Wales.

There were some strong individual performances from our three. Iris coming 3rd (2nd Scot) and Ruari 6th (3rd Scot) in their age classes in the individuals. Finlay and Iris' relay teams coming 6th (3rd scottish teams) in the men's and women's relay respectively.

Well done to our three. Some really good experiences that they can re-cycle into their domestic performances and build on for next year. Look out for them at the next Ecko event and give them a cheer!
