EckO February Newsletter 2022

Dates for your diaries:

1. SOL 2
The next local event is at Coille Nathais/ Fearnoch near Taynuilt, on Sunday, 27th February 2022.This is part of the Scottish Orienteering League (SOL 2) and although it is a regional event where lots of orienteers will be descending on EckOland (hopefully) for some fast and furious orienteering there is still the opportunity for all our members and friends to enter and have a go at the normal range of courses that EckO usually provide. The White, Yellow and Orange courses will be in Fearnoch. Please remember that entries to this event close on midnight Sunday, 20th February 2022.Entry is via the website and is done through SI Entries.
Thank you to all members who offered to help out on the day.If you have not been contacted by now assume that we have all the helpers required but please do come and take part in the event. All helpers should enter as normal and will get a run at some point.

  1. AGM + Social

It’s that time of year again folks!
EckO is holding its Annual General Meeting along with a Fantastic Social at Taynuilt Sports Pavilion on Sunday, 6th March 2022.The aim is to start with the AGM at 11.00 am followed by some ‘interesting, fun’ activities and a lunch of soup, rolls and cakes.
Nobody will be under any pressure to join the committee but if you would like to nominate someone for a role or indeed would like to be part of the committee yourself then nominations will be opening shortly. The emphasis is on having fun and socialising. We do however require a certain number of our members to be present to validate the AGM so please make every effort to attend.

  1. Compass Sport Cup/ Trophy

EckO would love to see our members trying some orienteering a bit further afield and the Compass Sport Cup/ Trophy is an ideal opportunity to travel down to Callendar and take part.It is on Saturday, 12th March 2022 at Callendar Crags. You have to enter individually and the closing date for entries is Saturday, 26th February, 2022.
Please could you let Jan Kersel know as soon as possible if you are interested. It would be fantastic to have a huge EckO presence at the event.
