We are delighted to have awarded Ecko's club development officer post to Jan Kersel starting with immediate effect. Jan will be working 2 days a week on a self employed contract with an overall aim of helping the club double our membership over 4 years by expanding the reach, frequency, range, quality and offering of orienteering activities in and beyond Oban.

Initially this will include growing the workforce of coaches and volunteers in the community and schools aiming to establish regular coaching for families, with a focus on recruiting and retaining girls.

Ross Lilley, Ecko chairman, says 'It will be such a boost to the club to have Jan helping our volunteers put on an increased range of orienteering activities for Argyll communities, particularly families who want an all inclusive means to be active outdoors. Many thanks to Scottish Orienteering and SportScotland's Direct Club Investment. We could not have got to this stage with out their support and commitment to our club'.

The club plans to begin organising orienteering activities compatible with government covid 19 guidelines soon after the schools return this autumn. Further information will be available on our website and facebook pages soon.
