Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival

Posted: Wed 27 Apr 2022

Calling all EckO Juniors…

The Scottish Schools Orienteering Association (SSOA) are delighted to announce that entries are now open for this year's Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival.

This will be held at Scone Palace, by Perth on Wednesday 1st June.

It is expected that pupils entered into the festival have tried out some orienteering in the school grounds or similar before they attend the festival.

The event is open to pupils from P5/6 through to S6.

Entries close on Monday, 23rd May

P5/6 children can go in pairs and trios but if you have a more confident child who orienteers then they can be entered as an individual.

There are prizes for school teams. Teams can be made up of any combination of individual or pairs/trios. The school team prizes are based on the combined times of the first three finishers or groups of finishers from a school.

EckO would love to have as big a presence as possible for this festival so why not give it a go.

The cost for each entry is £3.00.

If your child is interested please email Jan Kersel as soon as possible with the following details:

Name of Child, School, Class (eg P6), SI number (if they have one) and whether they want to run as an individual or in a pair/trio. If they wish to run as a pair/ trio please include the other names.

As the festival is held on a Wednesday, you will need permission from your school to attend the event.
