Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Thanks to everyone who braved the slightly damp conditions on Sunday with particular thanks to Hazel and Joe for coordinating the string course, Alan for technical prep, Andy for registration/download/results, Ross for the extra shelter and Tralee Bay Holidays for permission to use part of their park.

Directions / Parking

There is limited parking opposite the end of the track leading from Tralee straight to the beach.
Otherwise, park in Benderloch, opposite the "Pink Shop" or in the Hall car park, opposite Lochnell Primary School. Either gives the option to walk along Tralee beach or along Tralee straight.

Map / Terrain

Mixed area comprising sand dunes and open grazed grassland, deciduous woodland and a network of paths.

Registration and Start times

Registration is at the end of the track leading from Tralee straight to the beach

Starts from 11.00 to 12.00.  

If you would like some coaching and introduction to orienteering technique, please come for 10.00hrs.

Dogs are welcome, but please keep under control and clean up after them.
