A quick explanation of what was involved with Green with a twist

The idea behind Green with a Twist was to build on skills practiced following the two adult training sessions and also to mess with the heads of the more experienced orienteer. All that was required was a compass and a set of control descriptions. The course concentrated on map memory, compass and pacing and contour only. Have a look at the attached word document. What could be used for the compass only exercise given that the North lines had been taken away? What strategies would you have used to memorise the various routes? Does taking away most of the detail apart from contours, crags and water help to simplify the map? Food for thought.
